XAYABURI POWER COMPANY LIMITED

The Xayaburi Dam is a hydroelectric dam under construction on the Lower Mekong River approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of Xayaburi (Sainyabuli) town in Northern Laos. The main purpose of the dam is to produce hydroelectric power. The project is surrounded in Preliminary construction began in early 2012.

Location: Xayaburi province, Laos PDR.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and managing all tasks related to guest visiting and arranging ceremonies that occur within the XPCL Hydropower Plant Project.
  • Prepare and facilitate the accommodation, coordination for catering, food and beverage, and also entertainment. Lead the visitors to visit around the Hydropower plant area.
  • As well as coordinate with other departments and set equipment to ensure the readiness of visiting or meeting.
  • Write a summary of expenses related to the visiting project and send the monthly report to SSC-Administration Executive for acknowledgment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the MD Office department to summarize and communicate for acknowledgment the site visiting information in all sectors.
  • Coordinate with Laos government agencies in preparing to bring the visitors to visit the project.
  • Prepare and facilitate the accommodation in XPCL Project for all visitors.
  • Liaise with the police in facilitating the visitors' convoys to enter the XPCL project.
  • Coordinate the cars of each point to pick up visitors and maintaining safety along the way to visit the project.
  • Prepare to ensure the readiness of the meeting room including all types of meeting room equipment Provide maid services to facilitate the visitors in all places of visiting program and take care of tidiness such as coffee break and cleanliness Provide accommodation and check the neatness both before and after the visit.
  • Prepare the catering area, select food and beverage menus, coordinate with the restaurant for every meal, as well as preparing karaoke equipment for entertainment. Coordinate with the security team and other departments to ensure the safety of visitors along with the visiting program Prepare all service along the trip such as drinking water, cold towels, umbrellas, and taking photos.
  • Follow up and facilitate the visitors during the trips around the plant area.
  • Summarize and report all expenses related to the site visit project.
  • Welcome all visitors as Headquarter requested such as visiting a new project at Luang Prabang.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the site visiting project.
  • Host various activities that occur during the year, such as a Songkran festival, a merit ceremony, or religious events.
  • Coordinate with PR departments on CSR projects and other events according to company policy.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the office manager

Job Specification:

Responsibilities

Pre-construction phase

  • Draft reports, presentation decks, contracts, technical correspondents, terms of reference and technical references etc. to support Senior Engineers.
  • Support feasibility study process which include but not limited to:
    • Supervise and monitor site investigations from renewable energy view point.
    • Review specifications and outline design drawings in applying basic environment and hydrology knowledge, industry standards and norms.
    • Ensure document control of the project by preparing storage and document organizing rules.

Construction phase

  • Draft reports, presentation decks, contracts, technical correspondents, terms of reference and technical references etc. to support Senior Engineer.
  • Review submittal and detail design from EPC within an assignment by a superior.
  • Supervise and monitor activities on site, and follow up the work progress, summarize situations and report to relevant engineers. In case of technical issues, collect information for team to analyse root-cause, come up with solutions and monitor the progress of the open issue.

O&M phase

  • In response to requests from O&M subsidiaries, support to provide engineering consultations in accordance with Engineering Service Agreement.
  • Engineering capability development in the organization
  • Support Head of Engineering Field to develop engineering capability and conduct knowledge management of the department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and equivalent experience.
  • Technical understanding of thermal, hydro or renewable power generation principles and operation would be advantage.
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license not required, but is desirable.
  • Good command in English and computer literacy.

  • Perform troubleshooting to prevent disruption in work operation (i.e. login failure, application bugs, etc.)

Nam Ngum 2 Power Company Limited

The Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Project is located in Lao PDR, approximately 35 km upstream of the existing Nam Ngum 1 dam. It is located on the Nam Ngum River, which is one of the major tributaries to the Mekong River. The project, with an installed capacity of 615 MW is being built to produce energy for the Thai electricity grid and all the output will be sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

Location: Xaysomboun Province, Lao PDR

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Manage monitoring and inspection of reservoir, embankment, and face slab movement, water level/seepage and other environmental issues which are conducted by EGAT/EDL at Nam Ngum 2 Hydro Power Plant (NN2).
  • Support NN2 Civil Manager in trouble/crisis management by applying basic civil engineering knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities:

Civil and Instrument

  • Support Civil and Service manager to handle civil issues in a dam site
  • Monitor plant condition by visual check on measurement instruments and gauges including recording historical data by applying basic civil engineering knowledge.
  • Keep track of deformation amount in depth or length of dam on regular basis via over a hundred of measurement instruments across the site.
  • Make sure the all the monitoring device is ready to use without any failure and replace the device if any error detected.
  • Work with the contractor for bi-annual check reports on civil constructions, and support regular check on measurement instrumentals. Manage EGAT/EDL/CKP SSC as contractors by reviewing reports from them, analyzing the issues, and directing solutions or escalating to DMD Operation and Maintenance if necessary.
  • Perform preventive civil maintenance activities.
  • Submit the work progress report to superior officer every month.
Qualifications:
  • Age between 22-30 years old
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in civil monitoring or related fields.
  • New graduates are welcome.
  • Good communication in both Thai/Lao and English

บริษัท ซีเค พาวเวอร์ จำกัด (มหาชน) เปิดรับนิสิต นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 สาขาวิศวกรรมไฟฟ้า เครื่องกล เคมี โยธา ประมง สิ่งแวดล้อม และภาควิชาธรณีวิทยา ที่มีความสนใจเข้าร่วมศึกษาเกี่ยวกับธุรกิจพลังงาน เพื่อส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนให้เยาวชนของประเทศไทยได้มีโอกาสศึกษาหาความรู้ และได้สัมผัส และเรียนรู้จากพี่เลี้ยงอย่างใกล้ชิด เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจ และคุ้นเคยกับระบบการทำงานจริง
