CKPower enjoys a string of successes – first issue of hydropower plant green bond in Thailand helps win two international awards

Bangkok, 2 March 2023 – CK Power Public Company Limited or CKPower (SET: CKP), one of the the region’s largest producers of renewables-based electricity with one of the lowest carbon footprints, recently received two prestigious international awards recognising its environmental record.
CKPower’s subsidiary, Xayaburi Power Co., Ltd., was selected for the prestigious global award of Best Green Bond Hydropower Plant Framework at the International Finance Awards, hosted by London-based International Finance Magazine, for the highly successful issue of Thailand’s first ever green bond in the sector.
CKPower was also named Most Sustainable Hydro Power Company at the Global Economics Awards in recognition of the company’s production of electricity using environmentally friendly sources and its care for local communities and stakeholders. The award was presented by another London-based finance magazine, Global Economics, with CKPower being selected as the winner in the Utility and Energy category.

CKPower’s renewables-based electricity generated from Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of around 4.1 million tonnes a year.
Moreover, CKPower aims to invest only in renewable energy projects and to increase the proportion of renewable energy in its portfolio from 89% to 95% by 2024.
