CKPower postpones AGM indefinitely and schedules dividend payment for May 12

The Company affirms that maximum preventive measures against COVID-19 are still in place at all power plants and offices.

Mr. Thanawat Trivisvavet, Managing Director of CK Power Public Company Limited (CKPower) or “CKP” in SET, stated that as the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), a dangerous communicable disease according to the announcement of the Ministry of Public Health, has grown more severe and extensive, the government has declared a state of emergency across the Kingdom of Thailand from March 26, 2020 to April 30, 2020, during which all venues that pose risks of transmission, such as meeting rooms, banquet halls, ballrooms, and similar venues, shall be temporarily closed. In keeping with the announcements of the Ministry of Public Health and the government, the Board of Directors’ Meeting convened on April 13, 2020, resolved to indefinitely postpone the 2020 Annual Ordinary General Meeting of the Shareholders, previously scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 14:00 hours at Supannika Room, 4th Floor, Viriyathavorn Building, Sutthisan Winitchai Road, Bangkok.

CKPower would like to offer its sincere apologies for the postponement of the 2020 Annual Ordinary General Meeting of the Shareholders. The Company will continue to closely monitor the outbreak of COVID-19 and explore other options as allowed by the law so that the meeting can be convened as soon as possible. In addition, the Company has resolved to pay an interim dividend from the Company’s operating results for the year 2019 under the latest financial statements ended December 31, 2019 as audited by the Company’s auditor at the rate of Baht 0.0300 per share, as well as to designate April 27, 2020 as the Record Date to determine the names of the shareholders entitled to receive the dividend. The dividend payment will be made on May 12, 2020.

The Company and its subsidiaries are ready to cooperate and act in support of the announcements of the Ministry of Public Health and the orders of the Royal Thai Government as well as those of the Government of Lao PDR to efficiently and successfully stop the spread of COVID-19. In addition, the Company has introduced various preventive measures in all power plants and offices of the Company and its subsidiaries both in Thailand and Lao PDR. Despite the fact that no case of infection has been reported since March, CKPower has not grown complacent and has continued to implement maximum preventive measures.

Thanawat added that Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant, Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant, Bangpa-in Cogeneration Power Plant 1 (BIC-1) and Plant 2 (BIC-2), as well as Bangkhenchai Solar Power Plant will continue to operate at maximum capacity and generate electricity for the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and Electricite du Laos (EdL) to ensure that the general public has sufficient power throughout this summer.
